A violation can cost
more than a send.
Willful or knowing violations can bring up to $1,500 each. Carrier checks support list review; they do not establish consent or identify a new subscriber.

One number can have two companies: one for calls, one for texts. We check both.
Your saved result says Verizon. Today’s check says Bandwidth. Compare routing details before you send.

Common questions
For SMS platforms, messaging agencies and A2P campaign teams reviewing client lists.
What is SMS list intelligence for messaging platforms?
SMS platforms, messaging agencies and A2P campaign teams use SMS list intelligence to compare current carrier, line type and messaging-provider details with their saved contact lists before sending. LRN activation dates, when available, provide routing-change context; they do not establish subscriber identity or consent.
Is an LRN carrier lookup enough for SMS routing?
An LRN lookup identifies voice-routing and carrier information. For non-wireless numbers, the messaging provider can differ from the voice provider. Check messaging-provider data as well when reviewing landline and VoIP numbers for an SMS campaign.
How can an SMS platform check a client list?
Connect your backend through the REST API, Python or Node SDKs, or MCP tools. For a file-based workflow, upload a CSV in the portal. Compare the returned carrier and messaging details with your stored results and decide which contacts need review before the next send.
Can a landline get texts?
Sometimes. A separate messaging provider can handle texts for a landline or VoIP number. That is what the messaging check looks for.
What does "unknown" mean?
The messaging source had no answer for that number. That doesn't mean it can't get texts.
Does a changed carrier mean a new owner?
No. A number can move providers while the subscriber stays the same. LRN data does not identify the subscriber or prove reassignment. The FCC Reassigned Numbers Database checks for permanent disconnection since a date you provide; VRI does not perform that check.
Does this guarantee delivery or make us compliant?
No. Carrier and messaging data help you review a list. They do not prove consent, ownership or delivery. Consent and applicable messaging requirements still need separate checks.
Can we keep the results?
Yes. We still recommend a fresh check before each send, since numbers change carriers.
Do I have to talk to sales?
No. Create an account, test free with sample numbers, then go live from a $5 balance. Per-number prices are on the pricing page.

- Costs are illustrative: 100,000 combined checks vs one send at about $0.0125 per segment from one published tariff. Yours will differ.
- *24,500 is a rounded illustration: 100,000 × about 24.5%. The FCC’s December 2023 numbering report records over 253 million currently ported numbers and about 1.031 billion assigned numbers. This historical national share is not your list’s measured share, an annual change rate or evidence of changed subscribers.
- *$1.7M is hypothetical arithmetic: 3,400 violations × $500, not a prediction of annual liability. 47 U.S.C. § 227(b)(3) provides $500 per violation or actual loss if greater, with discretionary increases for willful or knowing violations. Whether a text violates the law depends on the facts. Porting alone is not reassignment; see the Reassigned Numbers Database FAQ.
