DNS Publishing LLC Privacy Policy Overview
This Privacy Policy details the types of data and information that we collect from users of our Site and Services, how we use and safeguard this data, and your rights regarding your information.
Our Services That Process Data
DNS Publishing's primary Services focus on providing Number Lookup and Phone Number Intelligence. When you use our Services (e.g., by submitting a phone number for lookup, either through the Website GUI or our API), we process the data you provide (such as phone numbers) to query our internal databases and/or third-party data providers to return information such as LRN, CNAM, spam scores, or other related telecommunication data. Our data processing mechanisms are designed with privacy and security in mind.
Information We Collect
We collect information to provide and improve our Services. The types of information we collect can be categorized as follows:
Personal Information:
This is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable individual. This may include:
- Account Information: When you register for an account, we may collect your name, unique identifier (such as account ID), email address, physical address, telephone number, geolocation, and IP address.
- Contact Information: If you contact us for support or other inquiries, we may collect your name, email address, phone number and the content of your communication.
- Payment Information: When you purchase credits or services, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full credit card details. We may receive and store transaction identifiers, purchase history, and limited billing information as necessary for account management and support.
- Phone Numbers Submitted for Lookup: When you submit phone numbers to our Services for lookup.
- IP Addresses: We collect IP addresses of users accessing our Site and Services for purposes such as rate limiting, security, abuse prevention, and analytics.
- API Keys: If you generate an API key, we store a hashed version of the key and associated information like an alias.
Non-Personal Information (Usage Data & Automatically Collected Information):
This is information that does not directly reveal your specific identity.
- Web Server Log Files: Like most websites, we use log files. This data includes IP addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamps, referring/exit pages, and clickstream data to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather demographic information.
- Query Logs: We maintain logs of lookups performed, which may include the number queried, options selected, results obtained (e.g., if from cache or provider), timestamp, IP address (for free lookups or API calls), and associated user ID or API token ID (for authenticated users). This is used for billing (credit deduction), rate limiting, service improvement, and providing lookup history to users.
- Cookies, Pixel Tags, and Similar Technologies:
- Cookies: We use cookies essential for the functioning of our Site and Services, such as session cookies for logged-in users and CSRF protection cookies.
- Google AdSense: We plan to use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our Site. Google AdSense uses cookies (including third-party cookies like the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our Website or other websites. This enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. For more information on how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.
- "Do Not Track": We will endeavor to respect "Do Not Track" signals from browsers where technically feasible, which may limit some forms of data tracking for analytics or advertising.
- Device Information: We may collect general information about the device used to access our Services, such as device type or operating system, for analytics and to improve compatibility.
DNS Publishing does not knowingly collect more Personal Information than is necessary to provide and improve our Services, manage user accounts, process payments, and ensure the security and integrity of our platform.
