DNC (Do Not Call) refers to the National Do Not Call Registry maintained by the FTC, as well as company-specific and state DNC lists. Businesses must scrub their call lists against DNC registries before making telemarketing calls.
DNC List Types

Requirements
Telemarketers must access the National DNC Registry and scrub their lists at least every 31 days. Calling someone on the list can result in penalties up to $50,000 per call.
